Hi Dave,

The news from Chiron on REGRANEX came out in July of '97, and it will be interesting to see the results compared with CYTOLEX. Regranex was compared with a placebo while Cytolex was compared with Oflaxacin. Compared with the placebo, Regranex did well - or did they?

"The data from the pivotal study presented during the Advisory
Committee meeting showed that REGRANEX Gel 0.01%, applied
once daily in combination with good wound care, significantly
increased the incidence of complete healing by 43 percent
when compared to placebo gel (50 percent for REGRANEX Gel vs.
35 percent for placebo gel). REGRANEX Gel also significantly
decreased the time to complete healing of diabetic ulcers by
32 percent (six weeks)."

I need to refresh my memory on Dermagraph - my initial read of it was that it may be something that may be great used in conjunction with Cytolex, and was being tested this way - but let me recheck...

The wound healing (secondary endpoints) was what I referenced in my post.

I was talking to family and friends this past weekend about the prospects of Magainin. I, like some Institutional investors, see magainin as an excellent prospect for making product and money soon. Nothing is safe in biotechs, but chances seem positive.

I don't know the cost structure of Magainin vs. competitors. I do believe the SKB is on track and Magn should be hitting the market with final approval.

Good Luck,

Shep
