Motley Fool said would buy DELL before CPQ, but I didn't get the impression that he meant a "hot-line buy". He was asked if CPQ was now a buy in his mind, and he said that he would rather buy DELL. He cited the transition to direct (as if it's possible to be both direct and indirect at the same time) model is pressuring CPQ's margins, as well as that of INTC (given the "improving" inventory controls = less INTC chips in the mix). He also said that DELL was built from the ground-up, using the direct model. That with experience with the model gives DELL the competitive advantage.
