Intelligence is the highest form of order in the Universe. Faith is the lowest. Were faith alone the realm of Mankind, all would still be shivering in caves and praying to the lights in the sky.

All forms of religion are vestiges of Man's primitive superstitions and a testament to a lack of knowledge about the principles of the universe. God is a creation of Man -- not the other way around. Man's highest purpose is to create, to evolve, to ultimately become the God so many desperately wish to believe in.

The richness of experience and the richness of life is one to celebrate. I believe in a greater destiny than the "heaven" the ancients hoped for. I think that in the long run -- if left free -- Man's mind can surmount any obstacle, including the petty challenges you list:

"no animals, no water, and very soon no breathable air since it is all hissing out the ozone holes with no forest left to replace it. And the algea that could is turning red."

You suffer philosophical and moral myopia. You cannot see that the destiny of our race is not this tiny planet stuck in the backwash of the galaxy, but the stars. Truly only the meek, the visionless, the cowardly will eventually inherit the earth -- the rest will push outwards leaving their cradle and childhood behind.

Money is the root of all good. That you do not understand this simple truth tells me who and what you are. Aristotle understood the meaning and motive of Man. It is too bad Jesus of Nazareth could not have had Aristotle as his teacher instead of Hebrew mystics, Indian soothsayers and the mad monks of Tibet.

I know what I am here for -- your paltry view that equates those who go far beyond Christianity and other forms of antique mysticism are nothing but hedonists is a rich laugh to those that see the bigger picture and choose to use their minds to check out that "man behind the curtain".

God and Satan, Ying and Yang, Carrot and Stick -- all cut from the same cloth: the cloth that desires to smother men's minds.

Sic Transit Gloria Millennium,

Father Terrence
