N E W S R E L E A S E ZIMBABWE EXPLORATION COMMENCES The management is pleased to announce commencement of the exploration program in the Archean Greenstone Belts of Zimbabwe. The target of exploration is a multiple commodity ranging from base to noble metal with emphasis on volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) type copper-zinc deposits. Falconbridge Exploration Zimbabwe (FEZ), the operator of the program, plans to complete an initial 3200 metres over 13 holes of diamond drilling. The immediate objective of the drill program is to follow-up the massive sulphide discoveries in earlier holes drilled by FEZ (see Press Release dated January 12, 1998) and to investigate continuity of mineralization along strike as indicated by geophysical and geochemical surveys.
