Poncho: Don't call long distance or fly (retired). I bought & installed a 56k modem just for the new hookup. connects at 48. Much improved over 28 on Compuserve (sometimes.) Are modem prices coming down fast? Yup. Same X2 modem at Price/costco $166.99 At Fry's Electronics $119.95. At the Fry's checkout stand $79.95. Somewhere between the display and checkstand the price dropped 40 bucks. What a nice surprise. When is this @^*(#^ AOL going to take a hit???
