MICRON TECHNOLOGY (MU) 31 3/8. Stock could get a lift today from bullish call made by Merrill Lynch this morning. Firm believes that its FY97 earnings estimate may be too low considering what firm
expects will be a healthy rise in 16-meg DRAM prices. Merrill sees intermediate-term prices rising to $11.50-$12.50. Thus, firm feels that its $1.95 EPS estimate may not reflect earnings that will be derived from what will become a wider margin business. Merrill said that only reason it has failed to upgrade stock is because it simply has not had time to do a full review of the company.
