Alex, MrB, Jon, All

I heartily concur with MrB's suggestions with reference to posting in the coffee shop forums. I sincerely hope Jill sees fit to implement them.

I think that what incenses me the most about this current fracas is that Janice is the sole banishee, and the person or persons who brought their specious and, I might add, utterly groundless complaints to Jill's attention are still roaming free to stir up the pot or the kettle, as the case may be, at will. This is wrong.

In answer to Jon Tara's thoughtful post, I would vehemently protest placing an arbitrary limit on the number of posts that could be posted by any individual poster--especially in the coffee shop forums.

I would further opine that there are sound and solid reasons for using handles or aliases here at SI and elsewhere, and such are used by a good many helpful and knowledgeable people. Handles and aliases are more than okay by me. Many of the most flagrant hypsters and flamers and all-around troublemakers use what would appear to be their own names, and the converse is equally true.

With SI's new and welcome private messaging feature, there really is no earthly reason for SI members to publish their e-mail addresses.

Sure is a pretty day. Hope everybody's having a good one.

Holly
