I spoke with their investor relations today to see if they had provided any guidance to analysts during their mid-qtr review. She mentioned that recent weakness is probably related to pre-announcements from CPQ, INTC and MOT. As far as their latest info, nothing had changed with repsect to the fundamentals and their business model for this qtr, which is back end loaded. She mentioned that, in the past even with most of the sales occuring in the third month of the qtr, traditionally it is a strong qtr. The analysts were reminded of this fact during the meeting, which according to the IR spokewoman was nothing out of the ordinary. As expected, I could not extract anything by the way of material info during the call, except that according to the Co. there was no negative news which will explain the slide.

The consensus estimate for this qtr is 60 cents.

Stock is taking on its chin due to the uncertainty surrounding PC sales. I am seriously thinking if I should take my profits from my protective put positions, in case it snaps back.

Regards

Alok
