Mr Glenn Shevchenko reports
The company has received a report of work on its South Voisey
Bay property (Sarah Lake). The report will take time to review in
detail, however, a major drill target with massive sulphide potential
is indicated near drill hole SVB-97-92.
The down-hole electromagnetic survey on SBV-97-92 has indicated
the presence of an offhole conductor that is interpreted to be close
to 100m in true thickness. The conductor is apparently 50m to the
west of this drill hole and is hosted within the favourable troctolite
unit that was intersected from 12 to 324m. This drill hole
encountered a 14m section of troctolite that hosts up to 5%
disseminated sulphides consisting of pyrrhotite with minor
nickel-copper mineralization. Furthermore, this mineralized section
occurs within the area of the off-hole conductor.
Drill hole SVB-97-92 is on the company's property, 325m east of
the Major General - Northern Abitibi claim boundary. The troctolite
intersected in this hole is the eastern extension of the troctolite unit
that occurs on Northern Abitibi's property within which its discovery
hole (SVB-97-96) intersected a 15m interval of Voisey's Bay style
massive sulphide mineralization grading 1.13% Ni, 0.78% Cu and
0.20% Co.
Drilling at South Voisey Bay is expected to resume in April.
Preliminary discussions indicate that the 1998 exploration budget for
the Sarah Lake property may be in the order of $1 million.
