Hi Rob, >>>A move from 108 to 123 is a 14% gain but a move from 54 to 69 is a 27% gain and should, theoretically take more time to occur.......It is much harder and will take longer for a stock to go from 54 to 69 then from 108 to 123. You must look at the percentages not the nominal movement of the stock price.<<<<

I see what you mean, but don't these two statement depend on the stock involved. If you average all stocks, then I would agree. On the other hand if you isolate the 'movers', do they really conform to 'theoretical time frames' and averages. I look at stocks like DELL, CSCO, MSFT and probably LU, that split and rapidly rise over and over and I question the statement.

When folks buy stocks that split again and again, doesn't their average costs go down. Don't they end up with more value as they have more share multipliers and rising price. Is this purely psychological?
