I heard R Tsien talk at Stanford last week. He was impressive.

He mentioned Aurora only in the final 5 minutes of the talk... He spoke on new fluorescent compounds as probes for cellular processes, gene reporters, etc. This guy is one of the few people I have encountered who is equally at home dealing with chemistry or biology... he is unpretentious and direct. The room was full (I had to stand on tip toes), and he got a LOUD ovation at the end... a rare event at Stanford where polite applause is the best you could hope for on most occasions. The grad students and post docs obviously liked and respected this guy and felt he was doing impressive work. Tsien mentioned the 3456 well plate, and a few other Aurora details. He also said that 8 of his postdocs had gone to work at ABSC, and that he felt things were going well.

All of this doesnt mean ABSC shares will now double, but if their management is on a par with the principal science advisor (Tsien), they should do very well.
