bbruin, thanks for this tidbit. I expect that you mean Esso will receive a permit to flare up to 50 MMCF, in total, during the entire AOF (ie. 4 point) test. I will indeed be very surprised if Esso flows this well at high rates (ie. >15 MMCF/D). They have no need to but must instead conserve the bulk of their permitted flare volume for an extended rate which will start immediately after the 4th point and last about 7 days. (If they flow say 7 MMCF/D on the extended rate, there goes the permit volume!!)

Esso needs info which they can obtain by flowing the well at lower flow rates (say 3 to 12 MMCF/D range). On the contrary, if they produce the well at 50 MMCF/D for 1 day they would use up their flare permit but wouldn't learn what they need to know about areal extent of the reservoir, etc.

The AOF of this well is known to be large (>50MMCF/D)!! Esso, BEA\STF and WE already know that. Exactly what the AOF is doesn't matter at all because the only wells that ever produce at their AOFs are blowouts!!! What we need is good deliverability (say 5 to 7 MMCF/D)at around 1000 psi tubinghead pressure.
