That's interesting to hear the affects on Hawaii of the recent crises in Asia. Those circumstances make sense since your economy is so linked to Asia. I suppose you'll be finding some good real estate deals in the coming months on those vacation homes.
US mainland is waiting for an Asian related slowdown, but it sure is taking its sweet time. Hopefully, it will be a soft landing that removes present inflationary risks without throwing us into a recession, thereby prolonging this aging bull.
At this point, I think it all comes down to mainland China. If they keep from devaluating and continue to invest and grow, I think the Asian Flu will give the US a beneficial breather and Southeast Asia could turn the corner and start to slowly grow again. If China starts to falter it'll be time to look for shorts, because we'll probably wind up in one of the greatest bear markets of all time.
