Well Mary in many ways your post regarding Dell is correct - obviously Dell is a great company and there is a lot I admire about them.

But with the P/E where it is, I think many people assume that Dell is much more of a successful automation house than it really is.

I think you missed my point with the mainframe example. I am not saying it is not acceptable to do business on a 15 yr old mainframe. The problem is, when you have y2k issues to deal with, serious planning is required if you intend to go into the new millenium with the same hardware. Just remember Dell had an IS meltdown once before, thats all Im trying to point out. Imo it could happen again, easily.
