Haven't kept up with most of the posts, have 300+, took the weekend off to clear my head.

Appeared CPQ had extreme heat at 25 today. As I thought, this one may create a great deal of short term volatility with the war among analysts.

Have started trying to follow the DELL thread, quite an emotional group, with highs and denials. Another lesson of "don't fall in love".

I must disclose, I have not done a great deal of research yet, except for Owning a Presario, recently following the hell out of CPQ's trading because I thought it was a steal at $32, and I think I read hear that they had some German blood too.

My two cents, America is the Wal Mart society, they're shoppers, and they drive prices down. Everyone seems to want to save a penny; gotta get a good deal.

I once heard that the growth of PC's in households could grow to 50% by 2000. Have no idea of how big of a move that would be, the only thing I'm certain on, it's going to take a cheap computer to get them into almost 1/2 the population. The high end buyers of retail will probably slow, personally I'm in no hurry to upgrade, I have no need for Pentium II. I can sit out atleast two years till I get the itch to spend the money.

My short term memory tells me Compaq has recently mentioned the attack on the low end, very smart, and in my opinion, overlooked.
As well, some analysts are very bullish on the DEC aquisition. My vague understanding, it'll create a different segment of revenues, taking DELL out of the picture as their current concern.

It just seems to me CPQ is in transitional quarters, creating anxiety for nervous nellies. So be it. My guess, this might be like a hole-in-one, you gotta get lucky sometimes. I find it lucky to have this opportunity.

Good luck to all
