Tom,

Siemens laid off the entire CDMA handset development staff in Richardson, TX. They had been working on two CDMA phones and had plans for a third one. According to my sources, they were way behind schedule on the development and decided that since the 3G phones were CDMA-based, that they needed to bring the development back to the fatherland.... Don't want the hometown guys working on dead-end GSM while the foreigners (Americans) are getting the good stuff (CDMA)!
Siemens, as they said in the article, will probably stick their name on some 3rd party CDMA phone.
