Yes, Jack, I know the Bible can be interpreted rigidly or loosely. Isn't there one about not spilling your seed upon the ground, also? I don't think very many men take that one very seriously at all, these days. Of course, the Surgeon General was fired for suggesting that masturbation was a healthy activity, and so obviously more conservative Christians do take it seriously. One fascinating thing about America is that there are so many different factions and opinions on each issue. I do think it is really important to understand where some of these ideas and ideologies come from. I suspect that some of the things in the Bible that can be interpreted rigidly really made sense at the time the Bible was written. The earth was not very heavily populated, and some of these admonitions may have had behind them the purpose of creating more people quickly. And as I recall, pork was really dangerous because of the trichinosis risk, correct?
