Barry; If she goes to 17 or 18 you better back a truck up and
get all you can , I see a slim maybe on 22-23 but people who
decide to wait on that, won't likely buy any way.
-------------------------
CPQ if it mergers with DEC could change the face of things to
come, and in no small way. I don't believe the na sayers have
looked past the end of their noses or know how.
The merger may not happen, and if not then my bet is futile,
but by no means a compleat loss.
This marriage is in no way like one video co getting married to another, if this happens CPQ will be subject to turn IBM upside
down and shake her. The anal-cyst on the outside , focused on the
problems , have failed to look at potential, even if they
did look that way most of them don't know enough computers
to see what I see.
I don't think CPQ is going to draw a map
to their real objective and tip off the competition.
------------------------------
This move for DEC is their big play..it's a do or die thingy
if they make it and one waits till that happens they will then
be saying she too high to buy. Every thing hinges on the DEC
marriage. Once that is in the bag the cost of the tickets
will go up before it's made official or the public is told it's
a done deal. Heck once we know it's a done deal, and the risk
is gone, most of the gain will be gone too.
I don't know if they can pull it off, I'm hoping so not just
because I've got a bet on them I know the world needs something
better than the crapola that IBM, and the Wintel cartel is shoving
out. I'm sold on DEC products being the best of the best, but not
having cracked certain markets they have been mostly over looked.
-----------------------
I was one of the early users of Sprint , even before she went
public..I didn't really at the time think she would crack the
AT&T monopoly..I wonder what our phone bills would be today
had it not been for Sprint. I kinda see the CPQ DEC marriage
being to IBM what Sprint was to AT&T..and those who laugh last
will laugh the best.
