Some tech sectors slow -- but not home PCs
...More than 45 percent of U.S. households have PCs, according to CI's Consumer Technology Index, up from 40 percent the year previous. Tremblay said he expects that figure to hit 50 percent by the year 2000.

Household PCs hit high
Another CI study showed that household PC purchases in the fourth quarter of last year were at the highest levels since the fourth quarter of 1995.
