><>...Hi CAPT DAN, how have you been...><>

The following are some OT scriptures that foretell the events that Messiah would experience concerning the crucifixion, many of which not even He could control...such as others casting lots for His precious garments..!!...and All of them were fulfilled by only one.....Our Lord Jesus

1.He would be betrayed by a friend (Ps. 55:12-14; 41:9)
2.He would be sold for 30 pieces of silver (Zec.11:12)
3.The money would be use to buy a potter's field (Zec.11:13)
4.His disciple woul forsake Him (Zec 13:7)
5.He would be accused by false witnesses (Ps. 35:11; 109:2)
6. He would be beaten and spat upon (Isa.50:4-6)
7.He would remain silent before His accusers (Isa.53:7)
8.He would be wounded and bruised (Isa.53:5,6,10)
9.He would be nailed to a cross (Ps 109:25)
10.His hands and feet would be pierced (Ps.22:16)
11.He would die between two thieves (Isa.53:12)
12.He would bear shame, reproach, and dishonor (Ps. 69:19)
13.He would pray for His executioners (Isa.53:12;Ps.109:4)
14.People would shake their heads at Him (PS.109:25;22:27)
15.He would be ridiculed (Ps 22:8)
16.His garments parted and lots cast for them (Ps.22:18) imagine this one, the same ones who nailed Him to the cross, Gambled for the clothes He was wearing. Do you think that even these people knew the man they were crucifying was sombody very special?
17.He would thirst (Ps 69:3)
18.He would be given gall and vinegar to drink (Ps 69:21)
19.Darkness woul cover the land (Amos 8:9)
20.He would be the lamb of God (Isa. 52:7)
21. He would commit His soul to God (Ps. 31:5)
22.He would give a cry of victory and triumph (Ps.22:31)
23.His friends would stand far off (Ps.38:11)
24.His bones would not be broken (Ps. 34:20; Exod.12:46)
25.His side would be pierced (Zech.12:10)
26.His visage would be marred (Isa. 52:14)
27. His heart would be broken (Ps 22:14)
28.He would be buried in a rich man's tomb (Isa. 53:9)
29.He would be cut off, but not for Himself (Dan.9:26)
30. People would be astonished (Ps.22:17 Isa.52:14)

And all of the above was fulfilled in just the last 24 hrs of our Lord's life.!
The odds against one man fulfilling all thirty of these prophecies is ataggering: 1 chance in 431,696,000....Except He be the Messiah!

In His lifetime on earth there were a total of 300 of them. The odds against one man doing this in one lifetime is:1 chance in 8x10to the power of 132, let me put it in zeroes for you

1chance in 8x1,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,
ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,
ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,
ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo,ooo

Astonishing but true!
And those prophecies were just of Jesus the Son of God. there are hundreds more, of which to date more than 3/4 have been fulfilled.
There is no man in the world, (not even a zillion Jean Dixions) that could ever prophesy and be a 100% accurate, EXCEPT GOD HIMSELF!

Also depending on where in life this Jewish one is concerning our Lord and their faith in Him, there is a wonderful NT Bible Titled..." Jewish New Testament Commentary", by David H. Stern.

Have a good evening Capt...and I apologize I was not able to get to this sooner....I have been very busy of late.

There is much more literature out there also, but one must be careful in introducing a new believer to just plain overload....smile...
Prayer and God's word is basic and usually sufficient to the sincere heart....If the person searching is being prompted by the Holy Spirit of God then all will be well!!...Praise His Holy name..

Faith cometh by hearing, hearing the word of God.

Hope this helps...Good to hear from you Capt.
Have a good evening
My prayers are with you and your Jewish friend
Shalom
