Does anyone think that the following article will have any effect on SUNW in the near term: Intel Corporation (INTC) Sun Microsystems Inc. (SUNW) After market close, WebLogic Inc, a developer of Java-based server software, said that INTEL CORP has made an investment in the privately-held start-up company. The companies will also work together so that WebLogic's server software, called Tengah, can run on Intel's processorarchitecture, including its new generation processor 64-bit chip, code-named Merced, which is due in 1999. The amount of Intel's investment was not disclosed. WebLogic was founded in 1995 and is based in San Francisco. Its software is used by developers writing applications for SUN MICROSYSTEMS INC Java programming language. (Reuters 05:32 PM ET 03/09/98)
