*OFF TOPIC* A simple plug for a product by another company I own.

For my birthday I was just given the most extrodinary little device. I thought telling you all about it here might lighten up this murky thread a little.

It is a 3COM (USR) Palm Pilot. And yes I know that *today* the Pilot III came out. When I first got it I thought, "Great, all I need is another piece of electronic garbage to take up more batteries." Plus I am a IS professional in the first place, so I am sincerely tired of computer things. But this is one of the most innovative little gizmos I have ever seen. It is clever, intuitive, powerful, easy to use, and quite useful. Beyond all the scheduling stuff you can do with it, and address books and the like, it can play GALAXIANS for goodness sake! There are just tons of free/shareware you can download into it!

For example currently (besides galaxians and my schedule) I am using it as a grocery list, a travel alarm, a worthy chess opponent (although I suck at chess (but it is teaching me with little embarrasment)), I have downloaded the Gospels, and "Also Sprach Zarathustra" into it for my spiritual/mental enrichment. It plays tetris, and holds my excersize database.

I have only had it for 3 days, and I love it!

If you have never seen one you should go look. I have been turned off by palmtop computers, but this thing is cool. Who know you folks may hate it, but I thought I would and was wrong.

On top of that I have recently (before I got this gift) bought a substantial position in COMS so that makes it even that much more fun.

Sorry to veer off topic, but it made me feel better, how about you all?

James
