Pat,

<< I'll get a report written as soon as I get some sleep. >>

Great! You've been all over the country lately...you deserve a good rest!

<< Didn't I hear something about Qwest buying LCI today? >>

You sure did. Wow. For over 4 Billion! I love QWST, but never wanted to chase it and thus never bought it. :-( I liked that George Gilder article in the late feb. ASAP. Mentioned that Nayel Shafei of QWST just walked over and ripped on a GTE fellow at InterOp for talking about his 'dinosaur' bandwidth museums. ;-)

So,
per the reuters press....
<< The new company, dubbed Qwest, will be fourth largest behind AT&T Corp., the biggest long-distance carrier, the combined Worldcom-MCI and Sprint Corp. >>

Sounds like they got crazy on their new name. :-)

<< It will have about 2.3 million customers, annual sales of $2.3 billion and 5,800 employees. >>

<< The $2 billion network will link 125 cities generating 80 percent of the nation's voice and data traffic, officials say. >>

I don't know about you, but 2.3 B for 2.3 m sounds pretty good (ie. It sounds crazy that they are making 2.3 B for ONLY around 1% of the US population). Maybe that's a typo.

The info does not stop, does it?
