*AV*--That article you are referring to is real nice. I know this may sound like a little bit of over exuberance but I think IDTI has a leg up over the AMD and Cyrix(NSM) processors for the low end systems and any other type of electronics that will use a CPU (WebTV boxes, home environmental systems, etc). Its size, cost to produce, simplicity in manufacturing, and Greenfield architecture makes this an interesting story. There are great possibilities for this company.
BTW-Trivia-Did you know that ZLG still makes a decent living with the Z80 chip???

Sorry that I have been a hit and run poster these past few days but the PC and I are having it out big time. Unfortunately, the inanimate PC is beating the daylights out of me. As long as I was re-formatting for the umpteenth time, deleting the FAT32, and all the other assorted mayhem, I decided to go for broke and load WindowsNT 4.0 on the system. Eventually we will all be there so why resist doing it now.
WELL, I'LL TELL YOU WHY. That bast**d Gates did it again. Every damn hardware driver for the sound card, scanner, printer, Zip Drive, etal does not function properly. I had to get on the Internet to search out and download drivers specific to NT. To make matters worse, the system now has conflicts (though only two) that prohibit me from having a functioning floppy drive and scanner. Funny thing is that under Win95 all the hardware functioned albeit there were frequent "fatal exception errors". For some reason now, I have IRQ/DMA conflicts that I cannot seem to resolve or re-program. Not a good sign. I wish I hadn't started down this road<GGG>. Heavens knows what will happen when it is time to load the SOFTWARE. How many updates or upgrades will be required to function properly. What if my HiJaak Pro doesn't work under this OS. What if ...... You know, it was a lot easier when we had slide rules, Quad pads, typewriters, and did things by hand. We always knew who to blame for the foul ups.<GGG> |
