Scott, I agree. I really doubt Y2K compliance would necessitate a hardware upgrade. Even if it did, I can't imagine vendors waiting this long to issue Y2K compliant updates, so I would venture to say that most Y2K software upgrades have been done. If they have not, it means people are procrastinating-- waiting for a more compelling reason to upgrade their system, which means to them that Y2K is a non-issue anyway.

The real bucks will be spent by large companies with custom mainframe software. There is a real threat here that money normally spent on PCs will be diverted to pay for Y2K.
