There's a good analysis of these systems and Teledesic in Forbes ASAP article by G. Gilder in 1995 I believe. Basically, scores out Teledesic the highest, Globalstar next, rest well below. He also said that with the right chip which is being worked on by TI I believe, Globalstar would at least equal Teledesic potential.
