Summit is basically not selling many/any lasers. In fact, several Summit owners have been contacting Visx to see if Visx will offer a tradein to obtain a Visx laser.

As for Visx going up without Summit, its about time. Visx went down on Summit's bad news when Visx was the reason Summit had bad news in terms of machine sales.

The news today on Visx is very positive. The fact that the military is starting to embrace PRK for soldiers could only help promote PRK in the civilian marketplace.

Summit, however, didn't need to mention Visx in their press release today. Most feel their lawsuit against Visx using the Azema patents (that they purchased for $7M) doesn't stand much of a chance of winning a patent infringement judgement against Visx's laser. Most were hoping that the new management at Summit would drop the lawsuit and save both Summit's and Visx's money. In any event, the soonest anything would happen on this is next spring.

Earnings on Visx scheduled to be released next Monday.
