Sam,

I looks to me like the Nortel slowdown finally hit full force this quarter. Since the company has known about the decreasing Nortel business since last October, it is curious that they did not warn about a slump when they issued the 4Q earnings. Nortel supposedly has said that they do not expect to rely on SPCT nearly as heavily in the future so I would not think their business will be increasing much in the next couple years. The reasons given for this were that SPCT could not support that level of business without some quality problems. You will note that SPCT has continued to invest heavily in R&D and already has built up its production capacity. It appears that SPCT's strategy is to win back it's dominant role at NT by proving itself this year.

My hope is that SPCT will diversify like PWAV is doing so as to buffer itself from NT's ups and downs. So far, I have not seen any sign of that.

I don't think anybody would want to bring the PA capability in-house. This is the sort of thing that gets outsourced.

Regards,
Richard
