Paul, I was focusing on the sequential increase in sales and unit shipments over the previous quarter. I didn't own AAPL last year, nor did I buy it based on what it did last year, I bought it as a turnaround play, and so far it's come back nicely. If, from here it goes into a serious sales decline, I would certainly reevaluate my reasons for holding. Yes, AAPL isn't out of the woods yet, and plenty of analysts apparently agree with you. Check out the latest analyst's comments at:

Also AAPL announced an aggressive price cut across its Performa line, perhaps as you say to stuff the channel:
