Another factor balancing the sales is the company continuing to buy back shares (last announcement there were 400,000 left in the repurchase authorization). Last spring when EQNX was in the single digets, insiders were buying. Bottom line is insider transactions are one factor to consider. There were a lot of insider sales last fall, not only within EQNX, but much of the market. Issues were at or near record highs along with the DOW, S&P. Time to take profits. Insiders sell 3 times as many shares in open market transactions than they buy. But when you have 5 insiders in a company this size sell within a small time window, a couple of whom sold twice, it makes you nervous. Do they see something coming you don't see.
If you read back on this thread, you can find I'm consistantly very bullish on the financials of EQNX. It's still undervalued by the #s. Definitely not hyped, and management has done a good job controling costs and improving business process. I bought in May 97 at 9 7/8, have not sold a share At this point, I watching carefully since I do have a big gain on the line. But my time frame says hold while the business case is still in place, and I'm trying to hold off on selling any until I pave hased a year, and if things continue going well, past the 18 month new cap. gain marker since this is in a cash account.
Hope this rambling helps. Welcome aboard This thread does contain a rather high % of news and analysis, and very low % of flamming or blatent hype. Scott |
