If an investor has only $20,000.00, then $10,000.00 in any one stock is probably too much. If an investor has $2,000,000.00, then $10,000.00 is too small to worry about. Personally, I never ( not any more, anyway ) put more than 10% of my money in any one stock at a time. My only exception is XON, which is about 20%, but that's because my wife worked there for several years, accumulated lots of stock and won't let me sell any! |
