I am sorry, but if you are holding Merck 5 years: You have seen the stock recover from Clinton's Health Care scare rate of 28 to @130. Also, the dividend rate has increased each year. Why do you care if it splits? The company will be the same the day after as the day before. Splits only change short-term investor psychology and have no long-term effects. It is great if a stock goes up--not if it splits. Bruce
