You may not remember Global Marine at 2, or MCI at 5 pre-split, or many other good companies which were selling at bargain basement
prices and nobody would touch them. I remember and bought
them when they were in the dumps. I notice you're a CPA. So am I and in the early 80's when investors should have been falling all over themselves to be in stocks, they were'nt. I audited many large nonprofit institutions in those days and they kept most of their money in CD's because they were deathly afraid of the risk in stocks. Yes, I sold most of my portfolio too soon and have missed out on some potential profits in this bull market because my logical self told me that we're near the end of a speculative mania. I underestimated the
self delusion that people will put themselves through in wanting
to believe in the tooth fairy.

Unfortunately for most investors, the coming years are not going to
be kind.
