Tech Master:

I've been thinking the same thing myself for the past few weeks.

Contrary to the typical scenario, whereby the stock moves up in anticipation of earnings, only to fall off after expectations are met or even exceeded due to profit-taking, IMHO, ORCL will move up for the reasons you stated -- analyst upgrades, who like the previous post, are waiting for an affirmation of what management has been asserting all along -- that ORCL's overall business is not experiencing what one could label anemic growth for a growth stock.

Sure, we'll see some profit taking, but the subsequent upgrades will propel the stock further to new 1998 highs, that is, if ORCL meets or exceeds its numbers.

On A Separate Note:

Looks like our "short" friend Steve Farber has gained some notoriety. His initial post on this quarter's numbers, Message 3555356, was the subject of the MF Post of the Day for March 4.
