I am a little unclear on just why a homosexual could not be sanctified? I see Jesus as very understanding and forgiving, and definitely quite tolerant of "sinners".

If you want to do some research, research the last book and see how tolerant God is to sinners. Yes, we are living in a time of grace, but there will be a time of judgement. Also, take note of chapters 2 and 3 where Jesus addresses the churches. (He is not too "kind" on some that call themselves "christian")
