Interesting....

I'm back at it again...posting at insane hours when I should be doing other things like sleeping.

THQI's success is quite amazing but it says something very telling.
There is a market out there for, pardon my un-PC-ness, as Jeff Foxworthy would say... redneck games.
Look at some recent unexpected successes that come to mind...

1) Deer Hunter
2) WCW wrestling
3) Bass tournament fishing?!
4) Redneck rampage
5) Radica Games handheld fishing games, bike racing, etc.

Then Walmart and Home Depot fit in there somewhere too.

Could this be a market, distinct from the "pimply 16 year olds" that is dying for entertainment? Nothing to do on monday night except watch Melrose Place? Bored out of their minds waiting for the lake to thaw and for fishing season to begin?

The interactive game developers have all focused on a core group of
hard-core gamers...the repeat buyers, etc. But it would seem that there is another group of people with plenty of money to buy PCs with nothing to play on them but games made for 16 year olds?

Maybe ATVI might look into this and see if there really is a market here.
