Apple Computer's Steve Jobs at Special Keynote Session
FOSTER CITY, Calif., March 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Seybold Seminars, the leading educational conference and exposition for publishing professionals, today announced its line-up of keynote speakers for Seybold Seminars New York/Publishing 98, held March 16-20, 1998 at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. For the first time at a Seybold Seminars event, all exposition attendees, in addition to conference attendees, will be invited to attend all of the keynote sessions at the New York event. Heading the line-up of keynote speakers is Steve Jobs, co-founder and interim CEO of Apple Computer. Apple has a long-standing commitment to the design and publishing industry, as the Apple Macintosh launched the desktop publishing revolution and has been a major platform for Web publishing development. This will be Job's fifth appearance addressing publishing industry executives and professionals as a Seybold Seminars keynote speaker. Jobs will be speaking at a special keynote session on Tuesday morning, March 17 on the opening day of the exposition. Keynote speakers for the Seybold/Wired Web Publisher Conference, held March 16-17, include Nicholas Negroponte, director of MIT's Media Lab, Wired magazine columnist and acknowledged digital guru; and John Gage, Sun Microsystems co-founder, and Chief Scientist and Director of the Science Office, Sun Microsystems, Inc. The Seybold Publishing Systems Conference, held March 19-20 will feature keynote speakers James Adams, noted journalist, author and CEO of United Press International (UPI); and Dan Bricklin, Founder and CTO of Trellix Corporation and the inventor of Visicalc, the first electronic spreadsheet, and of the first Web word processor.
