Dear Jane:

The "sense" that I make out of your experience with the executive director is this. What is the difference between an experience with God and a conversion? What is the difference that you made in this man's life that he didn't have before?

The battleground is the "mind " of man. You can make someone feel good. You can lead someone to a pleasing emotional experience. You can lead someone to an exhilerating spiritual "high". BUT ! Unless you get into their mind and change the way they think the other will quickly fade away. The mind of man. An experience other than one based upon Christ is flawed in a way shape or form; and therefore the rationalle or logic is somehow flawed.

I led a man to the Lord on his lunchhour one day and his wife had been trying for 35 years. How.? He was thinking that he had to give up smoking and drinking and cussing first. I told him, sir, give me 5 minutes of your time. I told him that if he came in here drunk, with a cigar in his mouth and cussing; but accepted the Lord Jesus and had a heart attack the next minute he would go to heaven. I told him what his wife had been telling him all these years was a lie. I asked him if he wanted to stop drinking. He said yes. I said to him. Will you accept the Lord today ? Then ask him to help you stop drinking; because your 35 years of trying has not done you one bit of good. He thought a minute and said let's go for it ! I led him through the sinners prayer; I asked him if he was going to church with his wife the next Sunday. He promised me he would, and out the door he went saying, Boy is my wife going to be surprised.

What am I saying. Forget the emotions when you witness to someone. Go for the mind. Forget the pleading, the begging, the "I'll pray for you", the you have to go to church; just go for the mind. Cut to the chase. Find out how they think?

Do you believe there is a God ? Do you believe there is a heaven ? Do you believe God created angels and the stars and the sun. You believe there is a God and a Jesus but you do not want anything to do with them. Why not? I want to hear you out. A lot of people have tried to convince you to accept Jesus. Try to convince me why I should renounce Him, I'll listen. But in the process you start to understand what they are thinking and it is then you get the opportunity you are looking for.

This is the key to revival all across this land. Too many churches are offering an emotional experience, a spiritual high; I want Christ in my mind; so that when the winds are howling and the way ahead is dark and dreary I will trust Him still; because I know in my mind, who he is , and that what he has said to me he will stand on.

In Christ..gregor
