Yes, Jack, but by the time your seed sprouts, another faster growing tree could sprout and grow up beside cutting out the sunlight. Then you have a weak tree when you finally do get it sprouted. btw, all our trees are looking poorly this am. Big frost last night on the fruit blossoms. c
