On that AOL post, with IR saying Japan sales would be flat: The Japanese OEM car navigation market is doing quite well, expected to be up about 60% this year. The Japanese aftermarket, however, is flat, so it is possible that TRMB is present only there in Japan. The other possibility is that TRMB has been partly displaced by a competitor, such as Rockwell in its Clarion deal. There isn't enough published in this area to determine the answer. But a general Asian turndown doesn't apply. By the way, Microsoft is reported to have pitched Auto PC to Japanese car makers, including Toyota. No indication that they got anywhere, though.

J.: I think the "5-4-4" refers to weeks and months in a calendar quarter.
