SB, I think Jan of 2000 65s, 60s and 50s are layups, though they are pricey. The basic argument is the one I've been making all along. Pc box making is a commodity business. Dell has been both smart and very lucky in the past few years and is now the only boxmaker showing any growth in eps. Those fat margins are a target for large and vicious competitors. Now that Compaq has given up on profits, they are free to lower prices enough to put a crimp in Dell's fat margins. I doubt if Hewlett and IBM are willing to give up all their market share to Dell and Compaq, so they will fire back. And pc prices are now going down faster than component prices, the one thing that has kept Dell in the game. In a nutshell, the tide is low and Dell's ship is riding a wave that is about to break. MB
