Big Dog, Further to your pet peeve. The news stories hardly ever talk about the impact of federal and state taxes on the retail cost of gasoline. Likewise the consumer doesn't seem to give this factor much weight when complaining about gas prices and being ready to accept the conspiracy/price fixing explanation often intimated at by the media. Also, we don't hear much about a conspiracy responsible for the current downdraft in gasoline prices. Oh well! Ron Clark P.S. It would be interesting if the media would compare wholesale prices for gasoline currently and in the past. This comparison would shed further light on the situation.
