I'm not saying you should hold a stock for 3 years, what I'm saying is the market puts on a multiple on a growth stock by what it perceives will be the kind of growth it will show for a 2 to 3 year period ... About Vantive, and other customer service/helpdesk stocks, I've written about them in the thread I started months ago: Y2000 - PROBLEM, the NON-PURE PLAYS ... These are the momentum stocks I love to buy, they're based on something that's happenning now, not just promised earnings ... I would highly recommend that you accumulate these stocks, trade them now and then but always keep in mind the LONG-TERM trend ...
