Frank, the symbol on the NASDAQ is PGMS....The PE of this stock is 29.4.....Current market value is 366 million....They are involved in a major expansion project at this time and have terrible earnings at this point...However, with platinum prices poised to rise, IMHO, now is the time to buy this stock....I have tracked it for 2 years, and I buy in when it is trading in the 18-20 range...Usually many mutual fund managers ride this one up to the mid-20's and then dump....As you can see below, there has been no significant insider buying at this point...However, a lot of mutual funds like to take positions in this stock:

SUMMARY INVESTMENT REPORTS

05/03/96 EVEREN SECURITIES, INC.
Stillwater Mining owns and operates the only significant platinum and palladium mine outside South Africa. The company reported 1Q:96 earnings per share of $0.00. Stillwater is in the midst of a major expansion program that should double its production by mid-1997, and has on the drawing board a second mine that could quadruple its output by 2000. The company's current small-scale operations relative to the size of its reserves are marginally profitable at the current prices of platinum and palladium, but with the anticipated doubling of production, profit margins are expected to increase measurably as benefits of economies of scale are achieved.

03/15/96 MUZINICH & COMPANY
Stillwater Mining is the only publicly traded, non South African pure Platinum & Palladium mining company of significance. The company's principle assets are the Stillwater mine, smelter & base metal refinery in Montana, USA. The current program is generating a significant positive turn-around in mining operations with expansion of mining, milling, smelting, & base metal refining operations leading to sustainable growth in metal production, yielding lower mining, processing, and inventory holding costs. The company is well focused, with new mining practices and under-ground development work to yield decreased mining costs on a per ton and
per oz. basis. Milled ore grades will rise gradually through 1998 from 1995 levels.

I may make this a long term core holding in my wife's IRA....Regards,
Mark
