Jane-- I apologize for not posting sooner, have been out of town.

I can relate a similar creepy story--

Last year my company had an insurance repair at the residence of a one Emil Buchdrucker. He and his wife lived off the main drag about a mile down a treacherous dirt road. The house was surrounded by woods and cornfields. I was impressed by the solitude and privacy of the site. It seemed at odds with the homeowners, elderly and not in the best of shape, far away from civilization, medical care, groceries. It seemed even more bizarre when I learned Mr. Buchdrucker was in a debilitating stage of Lou Gerhigs' disease and needed regular hospital visits. The day I met Mrs. Buchdrucker her husband, Emil, was resting. Both of them were elderly, late 70's or early 80's.

I measured for the repair and engaged Mrs. Buchdrucker in some small talk. I had noticed some old German memorabilia on the walls and pictures of Europe. She was very pleasant and after an hour or so she really opened up and told me about their flight from post-war Germany. She sobbed very emotionally. I comforted her and told her we would return in a week or so to begin construction.

On the day we arrived Mrs. Buchdrucker waved to us from the side porch. My helper and I were unloading the truck in the driveway about 60 feet away. We saw a figure behind Mrs. Buchdrucker moving slowly and with the aid of a walker. She called me over to meet her husband. So I put on a nice smile and was glancing toward the ground as I walked in their direction to introduce myself. As I neared I looked up and extended my hand to greet Mr. Buchdrucker. I froze and gasped as I looked into his cold, blue eyes. These eyes were clear, riveting and had a spell on me for a few seconds. I was shaken. He had a Germanic, Bohemian, face --round, deep wrinkles, a large powerful jaw. His grip was like a vice. I returned back to the truck after making some small talk.

My helper, Larry called me over and asked who that man was. I told him it was Mr. Buchdrucker. Larry said that when he had looked at him and made eye contact he felt this same creepy uneasiness I had. We were awestruck. Anyway we finished the job, said good-bye and had a few laughs about it on the way home.

Some time later I had told this story to a few people and learned that this guy has been purported to be a former Nazi war criminal. It just so happens in this part of Ohio there had settled many Germans after the war. The rumor was, thought not proven he was "Ivan the Terrible", a brutal Nazi guard known for the horrible slaughter of his victims.

BTW, I do believe we have angels by our side.
