Well I am back from the LA CTI conference and you had asked me for my humble opinion on ASFT and what I saw. I liked their product very much! I would also say that there were a great many equally attractive and competitive products also on the floor. I havent finished any analysis on how TeleVantage compares with it's competition, but I intend to do some sort of a matrix in the near future if I have time.

I definitely feel like TeleVantage rounds out ASFT's product line nicely. I did some preliminary pricing models with the worksheets they were handing out at the show, and would guesstimate that a TeleVantage system would cost a small business approximately $700 per seat to outfit the office with the TeleVantage product. This is attractive given that most PBX systems a business might compare TeleVantage to will cost you $600-700 just for the telset, let alone the rest of the system. So from a pricing point - they appear in the sweet spot.

From a feature perspective, TeleVantage does not include ACD functionality. This isnt necessarily a bad thing. Most small businesses may not be geared toward an ACD requirement anyway. And TeleVantage may be considering ACD as a future release, for all I know.

ASFT's recent partnering announcements suggest they will be able to build a distribution, installation and support organization for TeleVantage quickly. I feel this is a key issue in attempting to assess how much $$ TeleVantage will be able to contribute to the bottom line. TeleVantage does not appear to be a self installing system - no phone system is!! A strong vendor / VAR linkage is crucial.

Given that there are literally hundred's of thousands of small businesses out there who will benefit from such an innovative new system leads me to continue being optimistic about ASFT's future.
