All, re:Y2K. The 4th quarter OMB report is now available:
cio.fed.gov

This report is worth reading ... the likes of Rep. Horn can take this information and put out a doomsday spin. But look at the data:

35% of critical systems are now compliant.
18% more are being replaced or retired.
OVER 50% of the FED's system are already OK (or being replaced)! All without ZITEL!

The target for conversion is September '98. Yes, several agencies will fail to meet this date. Read the previous report also ... the FED is going to be OK.

My prediction that '98 will be the peak year for Y2K revenue is still looking good. The time to short Y2K hard is fast approaching ... probably late summer.
