I'm a bit amused by the smug confidence your display in your atheism. You remind me of my (self-admitted) colorblind friend who used to argue with me about the color of his shirt.

That you admit to having availed yourself of ancient texts (religious and otherwise) yet remain oblivious to the truths they yield (apparently excepting Aristotle) is yet another bit of data that confirms a suspicion I've held for a while: Just as there are colorblind folk among us, there exist those who are spiritually blind.

Perhaps there exists within each of us our own unique set of perceptual apparati which enable us to perceive and understand certain existential qualities to greater or lesser degrees. Speaking as a musician, I encounter people on a weekly basis who have no earthly idea where my creative "notions" come from--who could not begin to compose or sing a song given the remainder of their lives to do so. Does their ignorance diminish the reality of my knowledge? Similarly, I've encountered mathematicians and physicists with whom I experience an analogous breech of intuitive/inate knowledge.

What logic exists in either camp pooh-poohing the other's abilities and/or perceptions? I suggest you examine the possibility of your perceptual vacuum, rather than proudly strutting your ignorance.
