Indeed. "The best humor is served dry."

I was once quite active in this neck of the woods, and I'd get into discussions about some pretty big questions with various locals and comers. I've slowly learned that there's an awful lot of - emotional investment - some folks bring with heir views. Things can get sticky in a hurry, esp. around stuff like religion and politics. I have tried to deflect some of the worst gripes to come my wat with the relentless application of levity, but that doesn't always work. Sorta a shame. I like to discuss stuff so long as it can be kept in that thin fluid space which flows somewhere between ignorance and crystallized dogma/opinion. But there seems to be a sort of unstable physical force, a reverse inertia if you will, which quite reliably sends some of the coolest conversations spinning either into the mud of stubborn opposition or the foam of complete ribaldry. Me, I'm a foamy sort. The good news is gravity favors my type - after a long parabolic sortie through some truly luminous aethers of simply wicked humor - with a splash I'm back in the Cool Zone, refreshed&relaxed.
Vaya con Something:-)
