Laurie Rice at CYI says that one of the PC Mobile salesmen has been working with the ALERT group for over two years now. Still under development, so nothing really exciting yet. She reports that the impression given is that this program proposed to have a larger computer in the trunks of police cars, but can easily connect to any laptop computer.

I suspect this is not something that will be adopted in the immediate future and would be very expensive. Only major agencies, imo, would be able to consider this setup unless majority funded by national government. It would appear to be no threat to CYI and PCMobile for local police department patrol cars. Any other opinions?
